Phonics Workshop

Thank you to the EYFS parents who came to the Phonic Workshop before half term. We talked about the different stages and components of learning to read and write and how phonic knowledge is built up over your childs first year at school.  At Roselands we teach phonics daily and plan a range of fun activities to allow the children to apply their skills. We also plan phonic activities in to our free-flow environment and make it an integral part of their learning experience. We hope you learnt some supportive strategies that you can use at home when sharing reading books. A big thank you to our fabulous Year One pupils who modelled some of our favourite classroom games, we couldn't have done it without you!  Below are the slides we shared and some links for further reading as well as ideas to support your child at home. Games are available for use on tablets and phones too. If you need any more information please speak to any member of EYFS staff and we will be happy to help.
